Getting started / Quickstart

Make your first search.

Go from a question to evidence your agent can use.
Start with live search, then choose a point in time.

1

Create an API key

Open API keys in your console and create a key for your application. Keep it in an environment variable on your server.

Open API keys ↗
Shell
export ARISELABS_API_KEY="<your API key>"
2

Name the entities and concepts you want to retrieve. With no date set, the API searches the live record.

curl -s https://api.ariselabs-search-api.com/v1/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ARISELABS_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
  "query": "nvidia blackwell supply",
  "k": 3
}'

JSON
{
  "object": "search_result_page",
  "livemode": true,
  "data": [
    {
      "url": "https://example.com/blackwell-supply",
      "title": "Blackwell supply outlook",
      "text": "Example article text…",
      "published_at": "2026-09-06T13:22:11Z"
    }
  ],
  "search_metadata": {
    "query": "nvidia blackwell supply",
    "returned_count": 1,
    "degraded": [],
    "rerank_applied": false,
    "elapsed_ms": 284
  },
  "usage": {
    "credits": 3
  }
}
Read the evidence directly. Standard search returns indexed article text along with each source URL, title, and available publication time.
3

Choose a point in time

Add as_of_date to use a historical cutoff. Add recency to narrow the window before that date.

JSON
{
  "query": "nvidia blackwell supply",
  "as_of_date": "2026-08-20",
  "recency": "7d"
}
The cutoff uses indexing time. Standard search includes documents indexed by the end of that UTC day. Publication time describes the source and may differ. See time semantics ↗
